To transfer large files, it is often useful to use a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client.

SFTP = Secure File Transfer Protocol. Sometimes you have to set the port by hand. It can be a little tricky to get set up at first.

Macs may come with an FTP program.

  • Fetch home. We are pleased to report that based on our testing to date, Fetch 5.7.3 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), aside from one minor issue.

Strategy

Compile to zip file.

Upload using FTP or SFTP (your current credentials might work).

Show Moodle where to find the uploaded file.

Unzip in Moodle.

At first, navigating file folders may be a world of hurt. After you've suffered enough, your view of the universe will change, and you will have begun to "think unix." If you're on a unix system, of course. Your suffering will never end if you are on a Windows server. Nobody has written a book called Think Windows.
