Nanaimo Bars
1. Grease 9 x 13" pan.
2. Prepare dry ingredients:
- - 3 1/3 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
- - 2 cups dessicated cocoanut
- - 1 cup chopped walnuts
3. In sauce pan combine
- - one cup butter
- - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- - 10 tblspn cocoa
- - 2 eggs
- - 2 teaspoon vanilla
Cook over medium heat; stir constantly until smooth and thick (about 5 minutes).
Stir in the dry ingredients from step 2.
4. Press the mixture into the greased pan and refrigerate.
5. Cream 1/2 cup of butter.
6. Beat in gradually:
- - 4 cups icing sugar
- - 2 eggs
7. Spread over crust mixture and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
8. Over hot water, melt together:
- - 12 squares of semi-sweet chocolate or German sweet chocolate
- - 2 tablespoons of butter
9. Spread the chocolate mixture on top of the second layer and refrigerate.

Makes 20 large bars.
