| Fr. Tom Rowland of Madonna House built the Big Bee several years ago. He flew it on both glow and electric power. The Bee had an 8-foot wingspan. He gave it to me at Christmas of 2001. I got it flying for FONRA 2002. We put about 20 flights on it over three days. It was glorious. Something went wrong late on Sunday afternoon--pilot error, aileron separation, radio problems? The plane came down hard across Military Road. It still hurts just thinking about it five months later. Drat! |
