Listening to her view lead to this question: "So, if a valid marriage were broken up because of an unfaithful spouse, then what is the other person to do? Are they expected to live the rest of their life alone?". This question was also followed up with the point that God created man and woman to be together; we are designed to desire companionship. I continue to look to the teachings of the Church, but her comments provided me insight into today’s culture of what is popularly embraced: namely, we are created for companionship.
