New page

:; [http://usccb.org/bible/eph/6:16 Ephesians 6:16]

:: In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one.

Every temptation is like a fiery arrow.

The sooner we recognize the nature of the attack, the better.

Don't let the fire grow. "Nip it in the bud!"

Don't play with fire.

When the attackers use "flaming darts," they send a multitude of them into the stronghold precisely to make it hard for the defenders to quench each one.

They are not all of the same type, either.

The enemy will often flood our minds with temptations, and then accuse us of having consented to sin. We have to extinguish ''both'' flaming arrows in order to restore our equilibrium and peace of mind.
