A good nice sleep at the Comfort Inn in Holbrook Arizona, Big breakfast (complimentary :-) Avoided the Chevron gas station (50 cents more per gallon than 1/2 mile down the road). Headed to the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert. Nice landscapes, pretty colors, a lot of petrified trees. Very windy, sunny, and cold. Saw Meteor Crater about 50 miles east of Flagstaff, Awesome but a bit pricey at $13 per person. As we got to Flaggstaff, started seeing Ponderosa pines. Decided to go to Williams, Arizona to camp at the KOA. Was going to tent until the nice lady at the counter (who was from Buffalo) told us that the temperature was going to get down into the 20's, so now I sit in a small heated cabin :-). Went for a walk, and Dave is now preparing Weenies and Beanies for dinner. Have had mexican twice more, and the meal in Illinois is the best so far. Jill (the GPS) got us lost getting to the KOA campgrounds. She took us down a dirt road past a lake, we turned around a few miles afte she told us we had arrived. If we had kept going, we would have not had to go the long way round to the KOA. hehehe. Tomorrow, off to the Grand Canyon.
