NEWS RELEASEBRITTON PICKED FOR RANKING OYSTER JOBWashington, DC, January 30, 2002, Stephen Banker, co-founder and managing director of The Oyster Foundation, announced today that Francis Eric Knight Britton has been named the group’s Country Director for France. Banker said, “Dr. Britton has demonstrated keen insight, unceasing energy and high ideals in his work thus far to establish the directions of the Foundation. He is the right man at the right time in the right place for this job.” In addition to his country directorship, Dr. Britton will chair a committee to identify and investigate prospective nominees for T.O.F.’s prestigious Humanitarian of the Year Award, which is to be presented at a convocation of the group this Spring in Paris. In accepting the position, Dr. Britton expressed his appreciation to Mr. Banker and the other Foundation executives who selected him. “All I ever wanted to do was be of service to The Oyster Foundation,” he said. Dr. Britton’s new responsibilities will begin immediately and will constitute a full time job.
