I had a very nice talk with David Rothman today (Wednesday, April 12, 2006).
We probably haven't talked since I left DC in 1986.
We were among the founding members of the Capital Area Victor Users Group (CAVUG) and hung around together on The Victorian Connection.
David startled and amazed me one day by connecting to my modem and starting to type on my computer screen from his home--he had called, heard the modem answer the line, and quickly re-dialled through his modem. I was in-between calls to bulletin boards and had left my modem in answer mode. It was an early and very primitive version of today's chat rooms and instant messengers, I guess.
