Holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
You called St. Francis to be a companion of St. Ignatius,
and gave him a heart on fire
with love for you and with zeal for souls.

You sent him out as an apostle,
fearless in the midst of danger,
faithful in time of trial,
and tireless in doing good.

In countless journeys
he brought your Word and sacraments
to the nations of the East,
and made them one with your holy people,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Through Christ the choirs of heaven sing
the praise of your glory. [...]

Novena prayer

O Saint Francis Xavier,
so well-loved and so full of love,
in union with you,
I reverently adore the Divine Majesty;
mindful of the special graces
God bestowed on you during your life
and your gifts of glory after death,
I give Him heartfelt thanks
for all that He has done in and through you.

Therefore, I beseech you
with all my heart's devotion
to be pleased to obtain for me
by your powerful intercession,
above all things,
the grace of a holy life and a happy death.

I also ask you to pray to God
that He may [...].

But if what I ask so earnestly in this novena
does not tend to the glory of God
and the greater good of my soul,
please pray that God may grant me
more than I have asked or can imagine.

Catholic Tradition:
"All those who implore my help daily for nine consecutive days, from the 4th to the 12th of March included, and worthily receive the Sacraments of Penance and the Holy Eucharist on one of the nine days, will experience my protection and may hope with entire assurance to obtain from God any grace they ask for the good of their souls and the glory of God."
The Novena of Grace is normally celebrated from March 4 to 12, inclusive. March 12, 1622, was the date of the canonization of Ignatius, Xavier, Teresa of Avila, Philip Neri, and St. Isidore of Madrid, the Farmer (!). The Novena of Grace is also celebrated from November 25 to December 3, Xavier's feast day.
