Prayer for Vocations

Father,
creator of the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that fills them
stretch forth your hand in blessing
over all of your sons and daughters.

You have placed us in Your Son.

You have filled us with Your Spirit.

You have plans for our welfare, not for woe.

Raise up holy men and women equipped with Your spiritual gifts
so that they can provide everything that the Body of Christ needs:
holy families that bear much fruit for the Kingdom,
priests and deacons to minister at the altar,
religious who band together in poverty, chastity, and obedience,
consecrated virgins who take refuge in You alone,
chaste widows who dedicate themselves to service of Your children,
wise men and women of faith who find you in all things.

The harvest is rich and the laborers are few. We ask you to send laborers into every field
so that the Body of Christ may bring all of your children home to You.

Father, please complete the great work You have begun in us. May your Word find good soil in our hearts
and bear fruit thirty- and sixty- and a hundred-fold.

We make this prayer
with the help of Your Holy Spirit
in Jesus' Name.
