Prayer of St. Dominic

May God the Father who made us bless us.
May God the Son send his healing among us.
May God the Holy Spirit move within us and
give us eyes to see with, ears to hear with,
and hands that your work might be done.

May we walk and preach the word of God to all.

May the angel of peace watch over us
and lead us at last by God’s grace to the Kingdom.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Dominic

Dear St. Dominic,
when you prayed,
you put your whole body and soul into your prayer,
with deep bows, prostrations, bodily discipline,
genuflections, kneeling, and standing.

You prayed with your arms lifted up like a child to its mother,
or outstretched like Jesus on the Cross.

You sought the gifts of the Holy Spirit
for yourself and for your brothers in the Order of Preachers.

Our Lady gave you her rosary to bless, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify
all who pray it with devotion.

We ask that God will send you among us today
to teach us to pray as passionately and as purely as you did,
so that we, like you, may preach Jesus in season and out.

Holy Father Dominic, pray for us.
