Difficulties present us the opportunity to grow in [[virtues|virtue.]]  Virtues are matters of habit.  They require practice and co-operation with grace on our part.  When God calls us to grow in virtue through the trials of daily life, we may have to repeat the lesson many times before we acquire the power to deal with the temptations and difficulties gracefully.
