Ordinary Time
In Ordinary Time, we follow Jesus through his public ministry, which lasted from His baptism to the beginning of His Passion.
One gospel is used as a focus for the Sundays during Ordinary Time:
- Matthew - Year A (2010-2011)
- Mark - Year B (2011-2012)
- Luke - Year C (2009-2010)
The Gospel of John is featured in Lent, Holy week, and the Easter season.
There are 529 different passages for the Sunday readings (160 from the Old Testament and 369 from the New Testament).
In 2010, up until Advent (which marks the end of Ordinary Time and the beginning of the Liturgical Year), we are in Year C for Sundays and Year II for weekday readings. When we return to Ordinary Time after Christmas and before Lent, we will be in Year C for Sundays and Year I for weekday readings.
