Woodlawn Jesuit Community: January 15 to April 5, 2002

I was on sabbatical in the spring of 2002. The first part of the semester I spent about three months in Chicago at Woodlawn Jesuit Community reading the Polanyi Archives at the Regenstein Library. I slept in liberally, had a banker's breakfast, smoked a cigar or two on the porch, cooked lunch for myself, then spent the afternoon in the archives. I got through all 58 boxes without having to break my Monday to Friday schedule.

My companions in the house were Bob Bueter, Paul Mueller, Bob Finn, Peter Lah, Jim Schulz, George Lane, and Michael Madubuko. Bob Finn cared for the coffee altar in the kitchen, survived five hours of Parsifal with me, and took these photos. This was our worst storm. Most of the time I spent there it was sunny and warm.
